Steeped in history, Hillcrest Boutique Hotel—once lovingly known as Aunt Nea’s Inn - is a distinguished Bermudian Estate located in the heart of St. George’s, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The property spans the entirety of Nea’s Alley, a name tied to one of Bermuda’s most intriguing love stories.
In 1803, famed Irish poet Thomas Moore was said to have been captivated by Hester “Nea”
Tucker, the wife of his neighbor. So taken by her allure, he penned a scandalous poem
professing his admiration—forever linking the home to a tale of poetry, passion, and the island’s
romantic mystique.
Originally built in the 1700s, the estate at Hillcrest later became the residence of the American
Consul before evolving into a place of hospitality. In 1961, Trew Robinson opened the property
as Hillcrest Guest House, welcoming travelers to experience its timeless charm. More recently,
in 2011, the PBS television series This Old House featured renovations at
Harbour View, a sister property of Aunt Nea’s Inn.
Today, after meticulous restoration, Hillcrest begins a new chapter—reintroducing itself as a
boutique hotel ~ a place.where classic heritage and contemporary grace seamlessly intertwine.
